Ana, Karen Davila, Valenzuela Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian and Ronald Singson.

Among the 22 “Ninongs” and “Ninangs” are Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Albert del Rosario, former House Representative Cynthia Villar, TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, businessmen Ramon Ang and Ben Chan.

Jun Cabangon was the Best man, while Joy Marie Castellvi, Soledad's childhood friend was the Matron of Honor.

Here's the official plot of the movie as released by Viva Films:

When Gina, a popular print model, met Ben, a guy with an arresting smile and a good sense of humor, she thought she found the perfect guy that will love her for real. Gina met Ben in a coffee shop. Ben bought Gina a cup of coffee after her drink accidentally spilled because of him. Because of Ben’s charm, they easily got along and Gina silently wished they could see each other again that night.

At the bar that same night, Gina and Ben bumped into each other. This time, she fell for him. She was captivated by Ben’s allure and she gave her whole self to him. They made love. But then it’s already too late when she discovered Ben’s true character, and his real motive. To Gina’s surprise, Ben was actually a hitman and he intended to kill her. That their first meeting did not happen by chance. Ben is out to seek justice and avenge the death of his wife and son at the hands of Gina’s father, Mando, his former boss who had ordered to kill him because he already knew too many.

Ben survived after he was left “dead” by Tom, Mando’s “cleaner”. Now he’s back and he wanted to settle the score by killing both father and daughter. Ben had a sudden change of heart after making love to Gina. He decided to kill Mando before taking down Gina. But Tom, who has an axe to grind, went ahead of Ben and killed Mando first. Even worse, when Ben went back to look for Gina, she had already been abducted by Tom.

Ben ran after Tom to get Gina. And after finishing Tom, he tried to kill Gina, too.But Gina knew too well that Ben couldn’t do it to her after that fateful day when they first met. Gina knew that Ben came for Gina not because of revenge, but because just like her, he had already fallen in love with her.

“Hitman” is set to open in theaters this February 2012.

Johnny Depp as a Vampire in "Dark Shadows"

Johnny Depp is all set to portray the character of a vampire in an upcoming Tim Burton movie entitled "Dark Shadows".

In the photo Depp looks extremely pale, almost whited-out, complexion, slick hair, and long, pointy fingernails, not very much like the Barnabas in the original television series. Similar photos were leaked back in September of Depp donning the same makeup and a whimsically colored outfit.

The movie, which will be released May 11, is based on a 1966-1971 gothic soap opera and also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Lee Miller. In it, Depp battles other supernatural creatures such as werewolves, ghosts and witches.

ABS-CBN television series “My Binondo Girl” trended worldwide on Twitter as it aired its final episode on Friday.

Concluding the show, all the existing conflicts were resolved. Despite the challenges in their relationship, Jade (Kim Chiu) and Andy (Xian Lim) still ended up together and got married.

The show’s grand finale gained the attention of netizens, who took their love for the show to Twitter.

The hashtag #MyBinondoGirlFinale was ranked as the top local and worldwide trending topic on Twitter at around 10:30 p.m.

A number of Twitter users extended their congratulations to the cast and crew of “My Binondo Girl” for the success of the show.

Twitter user EthelMEspiritu posted, "Congrats to all the cast, staff and crew. #MyBinondoGirlFinale."

Chiu also extended her appreciation to all her fans and avid viewers of the series for making it No. 1 in the ratings.

Maja Salvador topbills "Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin"

Kapamilya actress Maja Salvador is back on Precious Hearts Romances presents "Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin" this Monday, January 23, along with Jason Abalos, Patrick Garcia, Ina Feleo and Ina Raymundo.

The story is based on the novel titled 'Pangako' written by Martha Cecilia for Precious Hearts Romances.

This new PHR series is Maja's comeback project after her award winning soap "Impostor" which she topbilled opposite Sam Milby, Melai Cantiveros, and Jason Francisco.

It is about a woman named Janine who sets out to find the truth about her identity, but finds love instead. She, though, is afraid to fall for the wrong man and to repeat the mistakes of her mother.

Maja plays the role of Janine while Jason and Patrick plays the leading men, Jake and Matthew respectively.

This soap marks Patrick Garcia's return to the Kapamilya network after years of staying in GMA-7. Among the last shows he did with ABS-CBN before he left was the Anne Curtis-starrer Kampanyerang Kuba.

Nicolas Cage returns as Johnny Blaze in Warner Bros.’ 3D supernatural action-thriller entitled

“Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance".

In the film, Johnny – still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy from the devil. At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy – and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.

During a press conference at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con, Cage assured fans that “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” will be scarier than his first outing as the comic book-inspired character. “This one, with directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, will go into the wonderful bliss of the nightmare imagination. I think it will be very entertaining.”

Q. What new things were you able to add to “Ghost Rider” this time?

Nicolas Cage: When I was trying to think about how the Ghost Rider would move, I wanted to find something really weird, which would be like levitating in circles. We called it ‘the compass’ together, to mess with how he would attack his enemies. It was like trying to design a body language from another dimension that would hopefully scare you and entertain you.

Q. Were there any stunts that really stood out for you, that really pushed your personal limits?

Cage: All the wirework was very stimulating, but also very nauseating, literally. I was going around in circles, upside down, and I was really trying not to throw up because it kept spinning and spinning. It’s one of my favorite things that we all came up with together, so I’m glad it’s there. It was well worth it.

Q. Did you have any pressure to make this film lighter?

Cage: There’s a lot of humor to be found in sarcasm and darkness. You talk to any paramedic, they survive by developing a pretty off-kilter sense of humor. I think Blaze, with any luck, has that because he’s really dealing with the fact that his head goes on fire, for years now. In the first movie, he kept it at bay. He was more like an innocent goofball. In this movie, there’s been a little fiery tapdance on his head, for several years. I think it should change his personality quite a bit.

Q. You played a character who had escaped from hell in “Drive Angry.” Are there any similarities or differences between that and this version of “Ghost Rider” ?

Cage: They’re totally different. In “Drive Angry,” I was playing a living dead man. Blaze is a living man who turns into a demon, so it’s a totally different kind of energy. A living dead man has to be a little bit more dead, whereas a living man who turns into a ghost can still be very alive.

Q. When you read comic books as a kid, it wasn’t always the coolest thing, but now you’re in a position in Hollywood to make those seemingly uncool things, cool for everybody. What’s it like to be in this moment in time, when all these characters you loved as a kid are being loved by the masses?

Cage: I actually had a vision of it when I was 9, that this was going to happen. It took a while because we didn’t have the technology to make them come to life so magnificently, as we do today. It was always so goofy, the stupid costumes of “Spider-Man” in the old movies in the ‘60s and ‘70s, and “Captain America.” But now, it’s become all the rage because there’s something in it for everybody. It’s perfect entertainment. It’s exciting for me. I love seeing all the movies happen.

Q. What comics do you read now? What are you passionate about?

Cage: I was into Planet Hulk. I thought that was pretty inspired stuff. I went back in time and looked at Batman vs. Predator. I just had to see who won that battle. There’s a lot of fun stuff. It’s always a good experience to go shopping in a local comic book shop.

Q. Who won that battle?

Cage: It was kind of a tie-breaker, but they usually are. I think Batman won, which was a bit of a stretch.

Brian Taylor: We’ve decided that Ghost Rider can kill all the other superheroes. Ghost Rider can beat Superman.

Cage: Because he has the penance stare, and everyone’s done something wrong. He will just look at you over and over and over and over again.

"The Kitchen Musical" Finale Airs on Studio 23 this Saturday

The finale of the pan-Asian musical-cooking TV series topbilled by Karylle and Christian Bautista comes to its exciting second-part finale this Saturday, January 21, in “The Kitchen Musical” on Studio 23.

The whole restaurant is in chaos after Mr. Avilon disappeared, with grave allegations being thrown at him. This tears Maddie (Karylle) apart as questions and doubts filled her mind regarding her father’s disappearance. As she searches for answers, Maddie finds out the truth behind her father’s schemes and a shocking revelation about Harry (Arthur Acuna).

As if the news about Mr Avilon isn’t enough, Selena (Rosemary Vanderbrouck) then reveals to Maddie and the rest of the kitchen staff that The Avilon will have a new owner with her as the new General Manager. Together with Harry, Alex (Stephen Rahman Hughes) will be kicked out of the restaurant and Daniel (Christian Bautista) re-enters the picture as the new Executive Chef.

With The Avilon’s change of ownership, will its staff also undergo a change of heart? Will they take Alex or Daniel’s side?

“The Kitchen Musical” first aired in the Philippines, among other Asian countries, in October and premiered via Studio 23. It was shot entirely in Singapore and was produced by The Group Entertainment.

This formally catapulted the international careers of Filipino artists Karylle, Christian, Thou Reyes, Arthur Acuna, and Ikey Canoy.

To date, “The Kitchen Musical” airs in 16 countries in Asia. TGE recently closed the deals with ABC and Casanova Multimedia, which agreed to do a local version of TKM in US and Italy respectively. The second season of the show is said to be in the works.

The Palace released the list of regular holidays, special (non-working) days, and special holiday (for all schools) for the year 2012 under Proclamation 295 in its official website.

But after his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones of X-Men: First Class, No Country for Old Men), botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi of Avatar, Public Enemies), Chris is forced back into doing what he does better than anyone - running contraband - to settle Andy’s debt.

As the story progresses, Dennis Trillo (young Cesar) admits that he loves Bianca King (young Isabel). Chynna Hortaleza (young Eva) tries to confront Isabel, a squabble takes place eventually putting the rallying employees to jail, including Isabel and Lucio, her avid suitor. Isabel hopes and prays that Cesar will help them get out of jail. As expected, the case against them was pulled out and they are released.

Her world falls apart and the shock causes an emotional breakdown. Lucio will bring her to the hospital to have her checked and the news of pregnancy is announced by the doctor.

With Isabel’s pregnancy, it will intensify Eva’s fear of Cesar leaving them once he learns of the news. Her mom, Sophia, will convince her to continue pretending that she’s pregnant. They will adopt a baby to make their plan realistic and the baby will be named Natasha (Lovi Poe).

The Impeachment Trial for Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona is set to start tomorrow (January 16, 2012). The senators will serve as the judges on what is described as way to do check and balances between the three branches of government.

The “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign of the Department of Tourism (DOT) was presented internationally by Tourism Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr. at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) in Manado, Indonesia on Friday (January 13).

"ATF 2012 is a perfect platform to introduce to some 1,600 international delegates composed of buyers and sellers," Secretary Jimenez, Jr. said in a statement.

“Our strategy is simple: while other countries invite you to observe, Filipinos can promise a more heartfelt and interesting experience. Wherever you go, whatever you do in the country, it’s the Filipinos that will complete your vacation and will make your holiday unforgettable,” Secretary Jimenez said.

Renato Corona Impeachment Trial Airs LIVE on ANC

In 2000, ANC launched a pioneering coverage of the impeachment trial of then-President Joseph Ejercito Estrada, where it devoted every necessary resource and manpower to become the only channel to cover the hearings from start to finish.

This year, ANC is mounting another important coverage as it presents “Chief Justice on Trial, the ANC Coverage,” a wall-to-wall, uninterrupted live coverage of the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona starting on Monday, January 16, 1 p.m.

Veteran political reporter and news anchor Lynda Jumilla and impeachment expert and Harvard alumnus Atty. Adel Tamano will be broadcasting from the senate for the duration of the trial. Broadcast journalists Karen Davila and Tony Velasquez will team up with legal experts in giving timely updates as they anchor from the ANC studio.

The first day shooting of the fourth installment of the action-packed spy thriller movie Bourne Series - "The Bourner Legacy" started yesterday at San Andres St. in Malate, Manila.

This game is popularized by Eat Bulaga (tv show) in the Philippines and has challenged the entire 7000 islands to think systematically and fast. The title suggests that even you and your genius friends can play this exciting game.

INSTRUCTION

The app needs a minimum of two player, one will be the Guesser -who will be holding this app- and the other the Responder. The guesser will need to unleash his/her deductive skills by asking questions answerable by yes or no in order to get to the henyo word as fast as he/she could, with the other responding with only three answers - YES, NO, PARTLY/MAYBE.

During game, specially for time challenge game, you can tap the screen for every correct answer, this will shift to your next Henyo word. "Maria Mercedes" is one of hit telenovelas of Thalia. It was shown in ABS-CBN way back in 1996 which pitted against RPN-9's "Marimar." If this TV series project will prosper, this could be the fourth telenovela of Thalia revived in the Philippines along with GMA-7's "Marimar" and "Rosalinda" and of the currently airing "Maria La Del Barrio"

Noemi Lagman, the college student who went missing, was finally found. The father and cousin of Noemi Lagman announced last night (January 10, 2012).

Four days later, Noemi’s father Noel Lagman via her cousin Allan Lagman Capulong announced on the same social media site that Noemi has been found with the help of some netizens who were able to see the online poster above. They did not reveal, however, the information on how and where Noemi was found for the family’s security and privacy.

"The Reunion" is the working title of Star Cinema’s upcoming barkada movie. It tells the story of four young men who are looking for the true meaning of love and happiness. It will be top billed by Actors Xian Lim, Enchong Dee, Kean Cipriano and Enrique Gil.

"Isa siyang barkada movie na ipapakita ang journey ng isang grupo na close friends noong high school several years later magkikita sila ulit. Doon ipapakita ang journey nila sa paghahanap ng tunay na kaligayahan. May ginawa kasi silang kasalanan noong high school at feeling nila kaya di pa sila nakakapag-move on sa buhay nila ngayon dahil sa nangyari before," says Frasco Mortiz the director of the said film during the movie’s story conference.

Bourne Legacy Shooting starts today (January 11, 2012)

The shooting of the fourth installment of the Bourne series movie - "The Bourne Legacy" starts today (January 11, 2012). The MMDA deployed 120 crowd control personnel to assist traffic enforcers during the first day of shooting in Manila’s Malate tourist district. Some roads will also be closed to facilitate filming of the movie. Authorities have already provide alternate routes for motorists. Locations of the shooting are set in Intramuros, Navotas Fishport, Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., Ayala Avenue, Nagtahan, Pasay Taft, Marikina City Market, San Andres Market, and Jones Bridge.

President Benigno Aquino III recognizes the honor for the Philippines to have been chosen as a shooting location for a big Universal Pictures-produced Hollywood hit. The movie is said to boost Philippine tourism and provide jobs for Filipinos.

The “Bourne Legacy” is the fourth installment of the Bourne films, a series of action thriller spy films based on the character Jason Bourne, a former CIA assassin suffering from extreme memory loss, created by author Robert Ludlum. Previously a Matt Damon-headlined movie, the fourth part will introduce new characters. Jeremy Renner will play the new lead character, Aaron Cross, replacing Matt Damon.

“Bourne Legacy” will be shown in theaters on August 3, 2012.

The full line-up for this year’s Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has been announced. The list of musicians who are slated to perform at the massive Indio, California event was posted on the official Coachella Facebook page.

With the 2012 Coachella Line-up announcement, the festival goers can now expect to see The Black Keys, Radiohead, Dr. Dre and Snoop headling when the music fest kicks off in Indio, California this April 2012.

First up, there’s big commercial names like Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta,Afrojack, Kaskade, Avicii and Calvin Harris. Then there’s long-time favouritesRadiohead, Modeselektor, DJ Shadow and M83, plus electro-bangers Justice andSebastiAn.

Radiohead, The Black Keys, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will headline the six-day concert, but more than 100 acts are expected to perform, including Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Arctic Monkeys, Jimmy Cliff, Bon Iver, Pulp, Florence and the Machine, Swedish House Mafia and Mazzy Star.

Coachella will take place April 13-15 and April 20-22 at the Empire Polo Club grounds. Tickets will range from $285 for a three-day pass to $665 to a VIP festival pass.

Hyundai Elantra was named Car of the Year at a news conference during the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, USA, on Sunday where 50 independent automotive journalists served as jury.

ABS-CBN's most-awaited Primetime Bida drama series "Walang Hanggan" will finally premiere on January 16 (Monday), showcasing a powerhouse cast composed of two queens of Philippine cinema Susan Roces and Helen Gamboa; ‘eternal love team’ Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta; and the first onscreen team-up of Julia Montes and Coco Martin.

Topbilled by Coco Martin and Julia Montes, "Walang Hanggan" tells the story of true love bound to last forever.

Included in the powerhouse cast are the queens of Philippine cinema Susan Roces and Helen Gamboa and former sweethearts Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta.

While Zulueta and Gomez rekindle an old onscreen romance, Martin and Montes starts anew. Martin shared, “This is a new challenge for me since this is the first time that I’ll be doing a ‘full love story.’ But I’m getting inspiration from the fact that I’m working with the best actors and actresses of the industry.”

Rita Avila, Melissa Ricks, Joem Bascon and Paulo Avelino are also part of the show.

American Idol finalist David Archuleta will be doing a primetime TV Series along with TV5′s drama princesses, Jasmin Curtis-Smith and Star Factor winner Eula Caballero on Kapatid Network.

"American Idol star David Archuleta is scheduled to arrive in Manila on Jan. 13 to do a primetime series for TV5 with homegrown Kapatid stars Jasmin Curtis Smith and Eula Caballero." TV5 announcement reads.

The move is still part of TV5′s campaign to climb up the rankings as it is currently the third biggest broadcasting network in the Philippines, next to GMA-7 and ABS-CBN.

Over the last two years, the Kapatid network has signed some of the Philippines’ biggest stars - Nora Aunor, Sharon Cuneta, Dolphy, Maricel Soriano, Aga Muhlach, Lorna Tolentino, Edu Manzano, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.

This will be David's fourth time in the Philippines. He first went here in 2009 when he did a concert with David Cook, second was in 2010 for an album promo tour, and the third was last year (2011) for a solo concert at the Araneta.

"It's more fun in the Philippines" will be used in international markets while the shorter "#1 for fun Philippines" will be the slogan for the domestic market.

The pitch, which was conceived with the help of top advertising agency BBDO Guerrero, gives weight to the people of the Philippines and not just on its captivating tourist spots as its official website says: “It’s the Filipinos that will make your holiday unforgettable.”

“Our strategy is simple: while other countries invite you to observe, Filipinos can promise a more heartfelt and interesting experience.” Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. said on the new campaign.

Jimenez also twitted on the DOT’s (@DOTPhilippines) official Twitter account:

“We need a line that is easily understood. Competitive. More fun in the Philippines is true. Keri natin ito!”

Samsung Galaxy Ace gets even better!

Samsung Electronics has launched the Android-based Galaxy Ace Plus, which has more memory, a faster processor and a slightly larger screen compared to its predecessor, the company said on Tuesday.

The Galaxy Ace Plus is powered by a 1GHz processor, compared to an 800MHz processor in the original Ace model. Performance will also be helped by roughly twice as much RAM; the new model has 512MB for applications to use.

The screen has the same resolution (480 by 320 pixels), but has grown from 3.5 inches to 3.65 inches, according to Samsung's spec sheets.

The Galaxy Ace Plus will be available in Russia starting this month, and will then be gradually rolled out in Europe, Latin America, parts of Asia, the Middle East, Africa and China. The company didn't provide any details on what it will cost.

The Ace Plus may be the first Galaxy phone Samsung has launched in 2012, but it won't be the last. For example, the company is expected to introduce a third iteration of the Galaxy S later this year.

The Galaxy S III is rumored to have with a Super AMOLED Plus HD display at 1280-by-720 pixels, a quad-core processor and a 12-megapixel camera.

ABS-CBN's upcoming biggest and most expensive Korean Drama entitled "City Hunter" is set to be aired in Kapamilya Primetime Bida this January 2012.

City Hunter is based on the manga series by Tsukasa Hojo that ran from 1985 to 1991. It had been adapted into an aminated TV series in 1987 and three other times after that. The franchise has also had three TV specials, 2 original Video animations, an animated feature film and an action film starring Jackie Chan.
